Amendment Process Announcement for H.R. 2087

Dear Colleague:

The Committee on Rules is likely to meet as early as Monday, March 19, 2012, to grant a rule for the consideration of H.R. 2087, to remove restrictions from a parcel of land situated in the Atlantic District, Accomack County, Virginia, which may require that amendments be printed in the Congressional Record prior to their consideration. In order to ensure that you are able to have your amendments considered, all amendments should be submitted for printing in the Congressional Record on or before the legislative day of Monday, March 19, 2012.

Members should draft their amendments to the bill as reported by the Committee on Natural Resources.  A more detailed description of the “pre-printing” process can be found on the Rules Committee website

Members should use the Office of Legislative Counsel to ensure that their amendments are drafted in the most appropriate format. Members should also check with the Office of the Parliamentarian, the Committee on the Budget, and the Congressional Budget Office to be certain their amendments comply with the rules of the House and the Congressional Budget Act.  If you have any questions, please contact myself or Lydia Calio of the Committee staff at extension 5-9191.

Sincerely,

David Dreier
