Pete Sessions Statement on NDAA Passage

WASHINGTON, DC – U.S. Congressman Pete Sessions (R-TX), Chairman of the House Rules Committee, today released the following statement regarding House passage of H.R. 3979, the Carl Levin and Howard P. ‘Buck’ McKeon National Defense Authorization Act (NDAA) for FY 2015:

“I’m proud to support this year’s National Defense Authorization Act, which ensures that our nation’s military is sufficiently equipped to protect us at home and abroad. The legislation provides the necessary authorities and funding for America’s military and does so in a timely fashion. The bill represents a bipartisan, bicameral agreement that ensures that our troops and their families have the resources they need to protect our freedoms in an increasingly dangerous world. At the same time, the bill makes difficult choices in order to conform to the funding levels provided in the House-passed budget. I applaud Chairman McKeon’s work on this important, bipartisan bill and urge my colleagues in the Senate to join us in supporting the brave men and women who defend our great nation.”
