Sessions Applauds Passage of EPA Reform Bills

WASHINGTON, DC – U.S. Congressman Pete Sessions (R-TX), Chairman of the House Rules Committee, today released the following statement regarding House passage of H.R. 1029, the EPA Science Advisory Board Reform Act of 2015 and H.R. 1030, the Secret Science Reform Act of 2015:

“This week, the House of Representatives passed two pieces of legislation aimed at protecting the scientific process and reforming the Environmental Protection Agency. Scientific data must be balanced and unbiased, and taxpayers should not be responsible for regulations based on faulty science. Currently, the EPA isn’t showing its work before implementing costly regulations and the scientific data that support such regulations should be publicly available. Scientific developments require transparency and reproducibility, and the EPA should have nothing to hide from Americans. I’m pleased that the House of Representatives passed these measures, and urge Senate Republicans to send both pieces of legislation to President Obama for his signature.”
