Sessions Applauds Passage of House Energy & Jobs Bills

WASHINGTON, DC – U.S. Congressman Pete Sessions (R-TX), Chairman of the House Rules Committee, today released the following statement regarding House passage of H.R. 3826, theElectricity Security and Affordability Act, and H.R. 2641, the Responsibly And Professionally Invigorating Development (RAPID) Act:

“The Obama Administration’s energy policies continue to fail to meet the needs of American families and businesses. At a time when millions of Americans are looking for work, the focus should be on productive ways to harness our nation’s vast energy resources. Instead, the Administration continues to promulgate onerous and expensive regulations that undermine job creation and economic growth.

“In response to the Administration’s failed policies, the House approved several energy and jobs bills this week like the Electricity Security and Affordability Act and the RAPID Act. The RAPID Actstreamlines the approval process for infrastructure, energy, and construction projects to generate economic activity and job creation. The Electricity Security and Affordability Act repeals recently proposed EPA regulations for future fossil fuel-fired power plants to ensure that we have abundant, affordable, and domestically-generated energy.  I urge the Senate to join us in helping American families and businesses by approving these common-sense bills.”
