Sessions Statement on CR Vote to Defund ObamaCare, Lock in Sequester Savings, & Keep the Gov’t Running

WASHINGTON, DC – U.S. Congressman Pete Sessions (R-TX), Chairman of the House Rules Committee, today released the following statement regarding House passage of H.J. Res. 59, the Continuing Appropriations Resolution:

“Since ObamaCare was first proposed in the House, I have stood firmly with my constituents in the fight against government-run health care and have voted repeatedly to defund, repeal, and dismantle it. North Texans deserve better than a law that raises costs, destroys jobs, and harms our health care system.

“Today the House approved a Continuing Resolution to defund ObamaCare, lock in sequester savings, and keep the government running. House Republicans have once again clearly stated our position.  Now it is time for the Senate to join us in helping American families and businesses by putting an end to this damaging law.”
