WASHINGTON, D.C. - U.S. Congressman Pete Sessions(R-TX), Chairman of the House Committee on Rules, released the following statement applauding the passage of the budget resolution for fiscal year 2018: 

"As a unified republican government we finally have a real opportunity to get our fiscal house in order. While this is not an easy task, today’s resolution puts forth a responsible framework that balances the budget within 10 years – without raising taxes – by cutting spending, making necessary reforms, and growing the economy.

     The Committee on Rules may meet the week of October 2nd to grant a rule that could limit the amendment process for floor consideration of H. Con. Res. 71, the Concurrent Resolution on the Budget for Fiscal Year 2018.  As in past years, the Rules Committee intends to give priority to amendments offered as complete substitutes.
