WASHINGTON, DC – U.S. Congressman Pete Sessions (R-TX), Chairman of the House Rules Committee, today released the following statement regarding House passage of H.R. 3102, the Nutrition Reform and Work Opportunity Act:

“Since President Obama took office nearly five years ago, more Americans are on food stamps than ever before. Due to enrollment techniques and participation thresholds used by the Administration, taxpayers are spending $80 billion a year for a program that reaches beyond its original intent.
