Sessions Applauds House Passage of Legislative Branch Appropriations Bill

Washington, D.C. – U.S. Congressman Pete Sessions (R-TX), chairman of the House Rules Committee, today issued the following statement on the House’s passage of an annual spending bill to fund the offices of members of the House of Representatives as well as the agencies related to its security, resources for visitors and funding to maintain its operations and infrastructure:

“By holding spending levels flat for the last two years, this spending bill represents an effort for Congress to use its resources wisely and efficiently, just as families across America do each day. Today’s vote represents a desire to maintain the hallowed structure that houses our great democracy, so that not only our actions inside the building, but the building itself, represent the ‘city upon a hill’ our founders envisioned.”

The Fiscal Year 2015 Legislative Branch Appropriations Bill includes a total of $3.3 billion while also adding $21 million above last year’s levels for Capitol Police. To read more about H.R. 2250, click here
