Sessions praises passage of legislation to permanently extend the R&D tax credit

Washington, DC – U.S. Congressman Pete Sessions (R-TX), chairman of the House Rules Committee, today issued the following statement after passage of H.R. 880 the American Research and Competitiveness Act of 2015, legislation that extends and makes permanent the research and development tax credit:

“During the slowest economic recovery of the last half century, it is important that Congress helps provide relief to businesses and create a stable environment for them to grow and prosper. Research and development allows companies across America to innovate and become more efficient, leading to more good paying jobs. In 2011, 47 companies in North Texas invested more than $600 million in research and development and we are still seeing the positive economic impacts of this investment. I applaud passage of this legislation and look forward to witnessing the benefits it will have on the ability of private sector innovation across America and in my home state of Texas.”
