Sessions Votes to Streamline Permitting Processes

WASHINGTON, D.C. - U.S. Congressman Pete Sessions (R-TX), Chairman of the House Committee on Rules, released the following statement applauding passage of a measure to streamline permitting processes for construction of new projects under the jurisdiction of the Secretary of the Interior and the Secretary of Agriculture:

"I have seen firsthand how burdensome permitting processes have delayed necessary infrastructure projects in North Texas, especially projects that impact our water supply. These projects play an essential role in sustaining our growing population in North Texas, as well as create much needed jobs in our communities. Bureaucracy has held us back for far too long. That is why I am pleased to support this measure to remove unnecessary hurdles to help get these important projects off the ground."
