Congressman Steve Stivers (R-OH) serves as chairman of the subcommittee and released the following statement in response to the hearing:

“I’m glad we had an opportunity today to continue our discussion on ways to improve the operation of the House of Representatives. I want to thank the members who testified for bringing forth thought-provoking ideas, and appreciate their willingness to engage with our subcommittee members and have productive dialogue that will help us as we examine the proposals offered. I look forward to reviewing these ideas, as well as the proposals brought forth in our April meeting, and determining how to best address the rules of the House to allow Members to perform our work on behalf of the American people.”
