<title id="H8E18ECFF4D2F418DA8387F71D4C917CD"><enum>I</enum><header>No War Against Iran Act</header> 
<section id="H59A11D7A5B43463EA62C1C321CC1CDE6" section-type="subsequent-section"><enum>101.</enum><header>Short title</header><text display-inline="no-display-inline">This title may be cited as the <quote><short-title>No War Against Iran Act</short-title></quote>.</text></section> 
<section id="HB04D8F36908341DF845EBBF987B76CF1"><enum>102.</enum><header>Prohibition of unauthorized military force in or against Iran</header> 
<subsection id="H7B00D678861E4CE7A7041845DB226AB6"><enum>(a)</enum><header>Findings</header><text display-inline="yes-display-inline">Congress finds the following:</text> 
<paragraph id="H445EC0D69133445FB42BA0D0633F68A3"><enum>(1)</enum><text display-inline="yes-display-inline">The acquisition by the Government of Iran of a nuclear weapon would pose a grave threat to international peace and stability and the national security of the United States and United States allies, including Israel.</text></paragraph> 
<paragraph id="HA4E082D88B1B41AFBFD4113B88A9FDE0"><enum>(2)</enum><text>The Government of Iran is a leading state sponsor of terrorism, continues to materially support the regime of Bashar al-Assad, and is responsible for ongoing gross violations of the human rights of the people of Iran.</text></paragraph> 
<paragraph id="H6BB1BFB5A2A547349C0F53A0AA5E8B22"><enum>(3)</enum><text>Article I of the United States Constitution requires the President to obtain authorization from Congress before engaging in war with Iran.</text></paragraph></subsection> 
<subsection id="H05A477209E0B4C6F84672E6821F432D5"><enum>(b)</enum><header>Clarification of current law</header><text display-inline="yes-display-inline">Nothing in the Authorization for Use of Military Force (Public Law 107–40; 50 U.S.C. 1541 note), the Authorization for Use of Military Force Against Iraq Resolution of 2002 (Public Law 107–243; 50 U.S.C. 1541 note), or any other provision of law enacted before the date of the enactment of this Act may be construed to provide authorization for the use of military force against Iran.</text></subsection> 
<subsection id="H71BBD9B2303F4C09A80792A04C99E11E"><enum>(c)</enum><header>Prohibition of unauthorized military force in or against Iran</header> 
<paragraph id="H8A5C5C6DAD8245B18AD85D5A71B3420E"><enum>(1)</enum><header>In General</header><text>Except as provided in paragraph (2), no Federal funds may be obligated or expended for any use of military force in or against Iran unless Congress has—</text> 
<subparagraph id="H403BE865DEFF4DF7AC074475EB0159B3"><enum>(A)</enum><text>declared war; or</text></subparagraph> 
<subparagraph id="H895D80DE59D3416B96A9AD928A5F05D0"><enum>(B)</enum><text>enacted specific statutory authorization for such use of military force after the date of the enactment of this Act that meets the requirements of the War Powers Resolution (50 U.S.C. 1541 et seq.).</text></subparagraph></paragraph> 
<paragraph id="HF0268D2EF6D640EF828728D7A383CB1D"><enum>(2)</enum><header>Exception</header><text>The prohibition under paragraph (1) shall not apply to a use of military force that is consistent with section (2)(c) of the War Powers Resolution.</text></paragraph></subsection> 
<subsection display-inline="no-display-inline" id="H233D79D53A9D4B9EBFEAD08650509A87"><enum>(d)</enum><header>Rules of construction</header><text display-inline="yes-display-inline">Nothing in this title may be construed—</text> 
<paragraph display-inline="no-display-inline" id="H962B0522782943309F4F3B126F921F73"><enum>(1)</enum><text>to prevent the President from using necessary and appropriate force to defend United States allies and partners if Congress enacts specific statutory authorization for such use of force consistent with the requirements of the War Powers Resolution (50 U.S.C. 1541 et seq.);</text></paragraph> 
<paragraph display-inline="no-display-inline" id="HE8D2CFFDB29340E4BD7F0FEB4557F9E3"><enum>(2)</enum><text>to relieve the executive branch of restrictions on the use of force, reporting, or consultation requirements set forth in the War Powers Resolution (50 U.S.C. 1541 et seq.); or</text></paragraph> 
<paragraph display-inline="no-display-inline" id="H3B1EAA93FB644BC69A037F86A7E2B358"><enum>(3)</enum><text>to authorize the use of military force.</text></paragraph></subsection></section></title>
