WASHINGTON, D.C. - On behalf of House Rules Committee Republicans, Chairman Michael C. Burgess (R-TX) released the following statement on the attempted assassination of President Trump:
The Rules Committee members are praying for President Trump and for everyone impacted by the shooting, said Chairman Burgess. I am absolutely devastated by the divisiveness seen today in our nation. President Trump will come back stronger than ever and bring unity back to the United States of America.

"The Rules Committee is praying for the family of our dear fellow member, Representative Thomas Massie, as they go through this difficult time of grief. May his family feel the peace, comfort, and love from the people surrounding them."
