Sessions Supports Our Veterans

WASHINGTON, D.C. – U.S. Congressman Pete Sessions (R-TX), Chairman of the House Committee on Rules, released the following statement applauding the passage of a critical measure to reform the Department of  Veterans Affairs:

“For far too long employees and administrators at the VA have turned a blind eye to the systemic failures in the organization. As a result of layers of red tape and the long, arduous dismissal process, bad actors continue to taint the well which has only caused the problems to get worse and worse. The men and women who selflessly served our great nation deserve better than that – much better than that.

“Today the House sent a bill to the President’s desk that makes it clear we are serious about reforming the VA and showing our veterans that we are working to make sure they have the care they need and deserve. This legislation is critical to doing right by our veterans in North Texas and across the nation. I’m proud this bill will imminently be signed into law and remain committed to fighting for our Veterans who have so bravely fought to preserve our freedom.”
