Sessions Votes to Eliminate Red Tape, Modernize Programs

February 2, 2016

WASHINGTON, DC – U.S. Congressman Pete Sessions (R-TX), chairman of the House Rules Committee, today issued the following statement after voting in favor of a bill to provide housing opportunities in the United States through modernization of various housing programs:

“The massive federal bureaucracy has created numerous roadblocks for Americans truly in need and inefficient, duplicative programs have consumed already scarce resources. The House acted today to pass legislation that streamlines processes and eliminates red tape, allowing the government to be held accountable while the families who need these programs the most can continue to benefit. This legislation would create more efficiency and modernize outdated programs, saving taxpayers approximately $311 million over five years.”
