Sessions Votes to Protect Americans from Waste, Fraud and Abuse in the Federal Government
WASHINGTON, D.C. – U.S. Congressman Pete Sessions (R-TX), chairman of the House Rules Committee, today issued the following statement after voting in favor of a bill to provide for enhanced security of Federal information systems:
“It is an unfortunate reality that Americans have to worry about how their hard-earned tax dollars are being used by the federal government. American families deserve oversight and accountability rather than federal overreach and abuse. There are far too many stories of federal employees performing poorly but still keeping their jobs, or of taxpayer dollars being used to implement onerous and unnecessary regulations. Not one tax dollar should be wasted, and the bill that passed the House today holds the executive branch accountable, providing an important protection from waste, fraud and abuse.”
