BOONE, N.C. – Today, Rules Committee Chairwoman Virginia Foxx issued the following statement on the passing of Molly McGovern, daughter of Rules Committee Ranking Member Jim McGovern:
 
“The loss of a child, no matter the age, is one of the greatest heartbreaks imaginable. Ranking Member McGovern and his entire family remain in my thoughts and prayers. In this difficult time of loss, may they find continued comfort, peace, and strength from their faith and from those around them.”

Good morning. The Committee will come to order. Without objection, the Chair is authorized to declare a recess at any time.

Today, the Rules Committee is convening to consider a single measure: the Senate Amendment to the Fiscal Year 2025 budget resolution.

As has been said by the Speaker and many others, the House’s consideration of the Senate Amendment to H. Con. Res. 14 is the key to unlocking the next critical stage of the budget reconciliation process.
