Chairman Sessions Votes to Approve the Keystone XL Pipeline

WASHINGTON, DC – U.S. Congressman Pete Sessions (R-TX), Chairman of the House Rules Committee, today released the following statement regarding House passage of H.R. 3, Keystone XL Pipeline Act:

“Today House Republicans have once again passed a measure to approve the Keystone XL Pipeline, an important project that will create tens of thousands of jobs, increase American energy security and inject billions of dollars into our economy. Earlier today the Nebraska Supreme Court took even more power from President Obama and his plans to block this legislation, allowing the Governor to approve the route within the state of Nebraska.

“The 114th Congress will be a time of great collaboration with the new Republican majority in the Senate, and the passage of this legislation marks the beginning of our hard work on a shared agenda with an emphasis on jobs and the economy. It is time for President Obama to act on this significant piece of legislation and set in motion this shovel-ready, job-creating project.”
