Chairman Sessions Welcomes New Members to the Rules Committee

WASHINGTON, DC – U.S. Congressman Pete Sessions (R-TX), Chairman of the House Rules Committee, today released the following statement welcoming Congressman Steve Stivers (R-OH) and Congressman Doug Collins (R-GA) to the Rules Committee:

“As a fellow Eagle Scout and proud American, I am honored to have Congressman Steve Stivers serve on the Rules Committee for the 114th Congress. Congressman Stivers has bravely served our country for 28 years in the Army National Guard, having received the Bronze Star for his exceptional leadership and accomplishments during his time overseas. As a small businessman, Congressman Stivers brings a vast amount of experience to the Rules Committee, and I look forward to the work we will accomplish together.

“As a man of great moral character, Congressman Doug Collins will be another outstanding addition to the Rules Committee. After the September 11th attacks, Congressman Collins selflessly joined the United States Air Force Reserve Command and served as a Chaplain. Congressman Collins is a hard-working individual who believes in the American dream, and it is my pleasure to welcome him to the Rules Committee.

“Both of these Congressmen are exceptional individuals and leaders who have made positive impacts on their home districts and the United States as a whole during their time in Congress. I am thankful for their remarkable service to our nation and look forward to working with them in the 114th Congress.”
