Sessions Applauds ObamaCare Repeal

WASHINGTON, DC – U.S. Congressman Pete Sessions (R-TX), Chairman of the House Rules Committee, today released the following statement regarding House passage of H.R. 596, To repeal the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act:

“Repealing ObamaCare is a top priority for Republicans in Congress and today the House took a stand against its job killing, costly regulations by voting to repeal the law.  Since the Affordable Care Act was enacted, it has failed American families and small business by raising taxes, discouraging hiring, and lowering hours and wages for employees.  Millions of Americans have been forced to leave their preferred healthcare plans, pay higher premiums, and are unable to keep their doctors despite promises from President Obama. The President’s top-down, Washington-first approach to health care must be repealed.

“I will continue to fight for responsible solutions, not those that limit American’s choices and raise taxes.  I urge the Senate to join House Republicans and act swiftly to repeal this disastrous law.”
