Sessions Applauds Passage of Bill to Fund Critical Water and Infrastructure Projects

WASHINGTON, DC - U.S. Congressman Pete Sessions, Chairman of the House Committee on Rules, today released the following statement after voting for a measure to provide for improvements to the rivers and harbors of the United States, to provide for the conservation and development of water and related resources:

"Our nation’s waterways and infrastructure projects play an integral role in our domestic security and our economy. Today’s fiscally responsible bill cuts through unnecessary red tape that has hindered essential Army Corps of Engineers projects – including expediting the permitting process for the Lower Bois D’arc Creek in Texas – appropriately allocates funds to improve drinking water, helps draught-stricken communities in the West, and improves our water resources infrastructure.  I proudly supported this critical package to protect water and strengthen essential infrastructure projects in Texas and across the country."
