Sessions Applauds Passage of CJS Appropriations

WASHINGTON, DC – U.S. Congressman Pete Sessions (R-TX), Chairman of the House Rules Committee, today released the following statement regarding House passage of H.R. 4660, the Commerce, Justice, Science, and Related Agencies Appropriations Act, 2015:

"The Commerce, Justice, and Science appropriations bill provides funding for vital law enforcement, national security, and public safety efforts while promoting initiatives dedicated to economic growth, innovation, and job creation.  H.R. 4660 prioritizes funding for the most critical programs, but also eliminates waste and duplication to reduce spending by nearly $400 million from FY 2014 levels.

"This fiscally responsible bill was considered under an open rule, which means that every Member had the opportunity to offer amendments and contribute to the debate. I’m pleased that the House was able to work its will on behalf of the American people and that our Majority continues to deliver on our promise to be open and accountable."
