Sessions Applauds Passage of Highway Funding Act

WASHINGTON, D.C. – U.S. Congressman Pete Sessions (R-TX), chairman of the House Rules Committee, today issued the following statement following the House’s passage of a spending measure to fund federal surface and hazardous materials transportation programs through December 18, 2015:

“Strong, healthy and modern roads, bridges and highways will ensure efficiency when it comes to road travel for commuters as well as for transporting goods in order to maintain a thriving economy. With the passage of today’s bill to extend the authorization for funding this infrastructure, we will have the time we need to develop a long-term strategy that allows the construction that is already in progress to continue as we work towards a plan that and guarantees structural stability for years to come.”
