Sessions Applauds Passage of Legislation to Empower Small Businesses

WASHINGTON, DC – U.S. Congressman Pete Sessions (R-TX), Chairman of the House Rules Committee, today released the following statement regarding House passage of H.R. 50, Unfunded Mandates Information and Transparency Act of 2015 and H.R. 527, Small Business Regulatory Flexibility Improvements Act of 2015:

“Small businesses are often hit the hardest by costly government regulations, which deter Americans from seeking new opportunities and keeps them from good-paying jobs.  Americans deserve better than Washington-driven solutions, which is why this week the House passed two pieces of legislation, one of which was authored by Vice-Chair of the Rules Committee Congresswoman Foxx.  These bills are aimed at giving small businesses a voice in the regulatory process and increasing the transparency of onerous, job-killing regulations.  I applaud the actions taken by the House to increase government’s accountability, efficiency, and effectiveness which will empower small businesses, help create jobs, and stimulate the economy.”
