Sessions on Keystone XL Pipeline: It’s Time to Act

WASHINGTON, DC – U.S. Congressman Pete Sessions (R-TX), Chairman of the House Rules Committee, today released the following statement regarding House passage of H.R. 5682, To approve the Keystone XL Pipeline:

“For more than six years the American people have waited for President Obama, Secretaries Clinton and Kerry, and Senate Democrats to approve construction of the Keystone XL Pipeline.  During that time, House Republicans fought endlessly to begin construction on this shovel-ready, job-creating project.  Today, House Republicans passed a bill written by Dr. Bill Cassidy to approve the Keystone XL Pipeline, allowing the Senate to quickly pass the same bill and send it to the President’s desk. The time for excuses and unnecessary delays is over. The Keystone XL Pipeline will create tens of thousands of jobs, bolster energy security, and inject billions of dollars into our economy.  It is time for the Senate and the President to act on this important bill.”
