Sessions Statement on FY 2015 NDAA Passage

WASHINGTON, DC – U.S. Congressman Pete Sessions (R-TX), Chairman of the House Rules Committee, today released the following statement regarding House passage of H.R. 4435, the National Defense Authorization Act (NDAA) for Fiscal Year 2015:

“I’m proud to support this year’s National Defense Authorization Act, which ensures that our nation’s military is sufficiently equipped to protect us at home and abroad. In addition to addressing military readiness, supporting our men and women in uniform, and prioritizing many other critical policies, I am particularly pleased that the NDAA will allow the victims and families of the 2009 Fort Hood attack to be eligible to receive the Purple Heart Medals that they deserve.

“The Rules Committee once again provided for a robust debate of NDAA – making in order a total of 169 amendments. I applaud Chairman McKeon’s work on this important bill and urge my colleagues in the Senate to join us in supporting an appropriately funded military to defend our great nation.”
