Sessions Statement on Passage of Intelligence Authorization Act

WASHINGTON, DC – U.S. Congressman Pete Sessions (R-TX), Chairman of the House Rules Committee, today released the following statement regarding House passage of H.R. 4681, theIntelligence Authorization Act for Fiscal Years 2014 and 2015:

“The United States Intelligence Community serves an increasingly important role in protecting the American people and our national interests at home and abroad.  Unfortunately, our enemies are committed to using every resource available at their disposal to harm Americans and disrupt our economy. It is imperative that we provide the men and women in our intelligence community with the resources and capabilities necessary to effectively assess potential threats and respond accordingly.  That is why I proudly supported the Intelligence Authorization Act today to authorize the national security functions performed by the U.S. Intelligence Community.

“I applaud the Chairman of the House Permanent Select Committee on Intelligence, my dear friend Mike Rogers, for his work on this important legislation and for his many years of dedicated service to our great nation.”
