Sessions Supports NDAA Conference Report to Strengthen National Security

WASHINGTON, DC – U.S. Congressman Pete Sessions (R-TX), Chairman of the House Rules Committee, issued the following statement after voting in support of the conference report to accompany H.R. 5515, the John S. McCain National Defense Authorization Act (NDAA) for Fiscal Year 2019:

“It is critical we provide our men and women in uniform with the support, equipment, and protection they need to effectively defend our nation from rapidly evolving threats. Our selfless servicemembers and our national defense leaders rely on the stability and continuity provided by comprehensive packages like the annual National Defense Authorization Act to advance military readiness and ensure our armed forces continue to be the best of the best. I am glad to see this important step taken by the House to approve the conference report to accompany this bipartisan bill, aptly named after a great American hero, and I applaud House Armed Services Committee Chairman Mac Thornberry for this yearly effort to strengthen our national security.
