Sessions: We Stand With Israel

WASHINGTON, D.C. – U.S. Congressman Pete Sessions (R-TX), Chairman of the House Rules Committee, released the following statement expressing his support for a resolution to disapprove of the United Nations’ dangerous anti-Israel resolution:

“The UN resolution sets a dangerous precedent that completely undermines any future potential of a bilateral agreement between Israel and Palestine. Since 1972 the United States has defended the people of Israel and vetoed 42 anti-Israel resolutions. The Obama Administration’s failure to veto this measure violates our longstanding policy to protect Israel from such one-sided resolutions.

“I have always stood with our friends in Israel and I will continue to fight to ensure we preserve and protect our precious relationship with them. Thankfully come January 20th we will have a unified Republican government and someone in the White House who will join Republicans in the House and Senate in reaffirming our commitment to the people of Israel.”
