Subcommittee Chairman Stivers Responds to Hearing on Proposed Changes to Rule XXI

WASHINGTON, DC – Congressman Steve Stivers (R-OH), Chairman of the House Rules Committee Subcommittee on Rules and Organization of the House, issued the following statement in response to the subcommittee hearing on Proposed Reforms to Rule XXI and the Modern Authorization and Appropriations Process:

“Yesterday’s subcommittee hearing began an open process to make the House of Representatives work better. The proposals we discussed were thoughtful, and our subcommittee members engaged in a robust discussion.

“I look forward to continuing the process of reviewing these and other proposals as well as making amendments to the House Rules, which will enable the people's House to better perform our work.”
