Today's hearing covers a single item, a resolution arising under the Congressional Review Act to disapprove of the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms, and Explosives' rule that forces millions of law-abiding gun owners, many of them disabled veterans, to dispose of or register their firearms with stabilizing braces.

Good afternoon. It is no secret that Americans are rightfully frustrated with government overreach and overregulation. I've heard the concerns directly from my constituents in Oklahoma. The last thing people want is the heavy hand of the federal government burdening their families and businesses. Yet the Biden Administration has failed to take note. In their zeal to force their progressive vision onto the nation, Democrats have produced egregious regulation after regulation.

Good afternoon. Today we are considering a single item, H.R. 3746, the Fiscal Responsibility Act.
This bill is the culmination of bipartisan negotiations between President Biden and Speaker McCarthy to responsibly raise the debt ceiling while enacting significant spending cuts and reforms.
For months, despite repeated requests from Speaker McCarthy, President Biden, and Congressional Democrats refused to negotiate with House Republicans, insisting on nothing less than a clean debt limit hike.
