WASHINGTON, DC — Rules Committee Chairman James P. McGovern (D-MA) released this statement on his presentation to the Democratic Caucus today recommending rules changes that would temporarily implement remote voting during the coronavirus pandemic:
Follows decades of Executive Branch encroachment on Congress' constitutional role over matters like national emergencies, foreign policy, rulemaking, government funding and our military's role abroad
The Committee on Rules will meet Tuesday, January 31, 2023 at 2:00 PM EST in H-313, The Capitol on the following measure:
- H. Con. Res. 9 – Denouncing the horrors of socialism.
The Committee on Rules will meet Monday, January 30, 2023 at 5:00 PM EST in H-313, The Capitol on the following measures:
- H.J. Res 7 - Relating to a national emergency declared by the President on March 13, 2020.
- H.R. 139 – SHOW UP Act
- H.R. 382 – Pandemic is Over Act
- H.R. 497 – Freedom for Health Care Workers Act
The Committee on Rules will hold its organizational meeting for the 118th Congress Monday, January 30, 2023 at 4:30 PM EST in H-313, The Capitol.
