WASHINGTON, DC – Congressman David Dreier (R-CA), House Rules Committee Chairman-designate, praised the passage of a historic package of rules reforms by the House Republican Conference tonight. The rules package will be the first major legislative business for the 112th Congress, which convenes tomorrow.
WASHINGTON, DC – Congressman David Dreier (R-CA), House Rules Committee Chairman-designate, announced the first group of new Republican Members of the Committee today. Dreier said the new slate of members, appointed by Speaker-designate John Boehner (R-OH), reflect the reform oriented focus of the 112th Congress.
Joining the House Rules Committee in the 112th Congress will be: Congressman-elect Rich Nugent (R-FL), Congressman-elect Tim Scott (R-SC), Congressman-elect Daniel Webster (R-FL), and Congressman-elect Rob Woodall (R-GA).
WASHINGTON, DC – Congressman David Dreier (R-CA), House Rules Committee Ranking Republican, praised the release of a draft Rules package for the 112th Congress today as “reform minded and accountability oriented.” The draft package, which is being publicly posted in advance for the first time, must be debated and approved by the House Republican Conference. It will then be the first major order of business, after election of the Speaker, for the full House of Representatives on January 5, 2011, the first day of the 112th Congress.
